Yesterday I went to a guitar tech in a town called växjo. He did a nice setup on my goldtop and I tried a few stuff in his store, and two other stores. The first things I tried was a fender telecaster through a valvetronix vox amp(the one with a head and cabinet). It was really sweet. I could get such a variety of tones. In the second store I tried a Gibson Les Paul standard through a Peavey Bandit. I got some nice vintage and metal tones through it. In the last store I tried a Epiphone Les Paul Classic through a Marshall TSL 100. And there it was... The sound that I allways has been wanting... Unfortunately I had to leave after like 10 minutes. But I know now, I'm gonna have that amp(gonna have to be used though). To bad I couldn't try a goldtop through it to see how that would sound...

this is just my opinion, ive heard peavy, dont like it. ive played teles, i dont like them. now gib, epi guitars- marshall, fender amps have never been a let down. sounds like the latter seems to have caught your ear. if it seems right then DO IT.

Yeah, the TSL is still pretty expensive used to. But by the time I have saved up that kind of money they will hopefully go down a bit. And about the peavey, I think it was very decent (it was very cheap) but I can never own one, to dark and a little stiff(compared to the TSL)sound for me. Teles have pretty thin sound, but I liked the playability. The only bad thing about playing around in all those stores is that it gets pretty boring playing on your own solidstate amp.

hey snopp, whats your current set up now? My current setup is: Ibanez GRX40 Epiphone Les Paul 56 Goldtop Marshall MG100hdfx Zoom 606(only use it for tuning) Soon an Ibanez TS7 pedal I know its not as glorious as my dream setup (I like my guitars though) but I'm just on my way creating a collection. I'll hopefully get work this summer. Whats your setup then?

yours sounds great. ive got a martin j-40 active pup acoustic, epi g-400 vintage, epi sg bully e-series, fender twin reverb w/ eminence 12'' x 2, digitech rp 200a fx pedal for gain and the modeler, some reverb. shure sm57 to mic the amp, shure beta 58 for vocals. yeah teles are very playable, but they do sound too thin. let me know how the amp quest turns out

Yeah! Nice collection! How is the twin reverb? I have never played one, but I've always been wanting to. Looks like you are a real AC/DC fan. Two SG's and "my balls are always bouncing, My ballrooms always full"(my favourite acdc song) standing at the bottom of your posts. Yes, I will keep you updated if something happens.

the twin is perfect. i probably wont ever buy another amp. ive finally found the perfect combination for my tastes. yeah and i am a die hard ac/dc fan, especially the bon scott ac/dc era. i mainly like the sg because of the small fast neck, and its light. im a small guy so it suits me great. i like pauls but they are too heavy for me, i get a sore shoulder after about an hour with one of those on.

Ok! How old is it? Is there an overdrive channel? Youre using a pedal, so I guess it isn't. I have tried the G400 and I really liked it, It's just that les pauls are more my thing. Although they are pretty heavy, I dont think about it to much.
