I was just at a Zeppelin/Deep Purple/Thin Lizzy tribute night at a local pub (sorry my spelling, I'm sort of under the influence).. Anyway, it was all Zep(YES!), except for one Deep Purple song, and I said hello to one of Norways most well-known guitarists now I'm going to bed, night all.

Tribute concert! was it any real members or was it bands that just play their songs real good? I'd like to see a Lizzy concert, Scott Gorham and John Sykes have been doing some concerts lately.

No real members, no. Local bands, mostly, but a couple were really, really good. Kashmir, Whole Lotta Love, Dazed and Confused were amazing edit: Thin Lizzy are playing here in a month, I'm wondering if I should go.. Thin Lizzy rocks, but without Phil? Sort of a tribute concert, that too, really

Yeah! You lucky bastard! Well Phil really knew how to charm the audiance. I guess it wont be the same without him. But I would easily go if they were here. Only one sad thing: I don't think that Scott plays Les Paul anymore. I have seen pictures of him and John. John still plays the black custom, but scott held a strat. Maybe it's only me that is over reacting. Seems to be a fun place were you live, were do you live?

oh yes, living here is a hoot.. I live in Norway, more specifically Gjøvik, where I study now. Lots of students here, which is the only good thing about the place Thin Lizzy is playing in Oslo, the capital, about an hour away

Ok. Can't say that Norway sounds that more exciting than Sweden, were I live. But I haven't heard of Thin Lizzy playing here the last 20 years, so maybe it is. One more thing that me and my friends wonder: Do you Norwegians have joke's about stupid swedes, Just like we have about you?

We did the same thing when I lived in Virginia, about West Virginians. Here's one: Q. Did you hear about the war between VA and WV? A. We won. They threw hand grenades--we pulled the pins and threw them back...

Yeah, nice! How about this: Q: Do you know why norwegians don't have keyholes on thier bathroom doors? A: no. Q: They don't want people to peek through the keyhole.
I don't think they are that fun, I think that they're only swedish tradition. But I guess most countrys have jokes about their neighbours.

well, the way we tell that joke about the "burenländer" (poeple from a certain part of austria) it says: Q: Do you know why Burgenländers leave their bathroom doors open? A: they dont want anybody to peek through the keyhole.

I don't think they are that fun, I think that they're only swedish tradition. But I guess most countrys have jokes about their neighbours. Oh, I wrote it wrong. It was supposed to be "why dont they have doors to their bathrooms" not "why dont they have keyholes". It lost it's point the way I wrote it, but i was tired. These burgenländers, have you been at war or something against them? That's probably why we have those jokes .

no, not really. burgenland is on the border to hungary, so back in the old days, when austria and hungary were united before WWI, burgenland was already kind of hungarian. a lot of towns in burgenland have hungarian names as well as their german ones. and a lot of hungarian towns have german names as well. after WWI the "burgenland" was split, for some reason. So a part of it went to hungary and the other part remained with us. but generally weve always liked the burgenländers, they're just a little stupid...
