My name got put into a contest here at work for free Green Day tickets, and I won two. I like several Green Day songs but have never seen them live. I am taking my wife who also likes the band.
Have any of you seen Green Day live? If so tell me what you thought about the show.
I also like their new song and video " American Idiot". Even though I am a hard core, take no crap, support our troops, Texan. There is still a non conformist, screw you, rebelous side of me that really likes the way that song screams at the right wing establishment.

Tues. Oct.19th Green Day opened their American Idiot Tour right here in my back yard. The Ft. Worth Convention Center was host to Sugarcult, New Found Glory, and Green Day. I won tickets through my work place and got the evening off. I had never seen either of the three bands before live, but have been listening to Green Day for years now, and NFG and Sugarcult for about a year now. All three bands were great, but Green Day stole the show opening with American Idiot and then going on after that for about a two hour show. My favorite part of the show was when they called three people from the audience while playing "Brain Stew", first call was for a drummer. This kid with a mohawk got up and took up the beat on the drums, he was pretty good. Then the bass, and finaly the guitar. All were random volunteers that got picked and all under 25 years old by the looks of em. They did great as the band finished out the song running them around like rock stars. I don't know if the bassist and the drummer got anything but a great time, but the guitar player got to keep the guitar. I think it was the new signature Fender Strat. I saw him going to his car after the show with the guitar and had to ask him if that was a blast or what. The only words he could get out were "oh dude I mean what a rush"lol. Well anyhow check them out when they come thruogh your town and see if he keeps giving away guitars. Zac
