Popups!

Nice, I'm sitting at school, in a computerlab.. my back to about 30 students.. I'm surfing around, reading news, bored to tears.. so I decide to check out our old friendly epifriends, nothing wrong here.. type in the url, press enter, and BAM! 3 popups, the last one being a pornsite ad with.. well, revealing pictures of the opposite sex As I struggle to close the darn windows, my face turns a deep red and I hear whispers behind me..

Ok, never visiting here again with internet explorer at school at home I use another browser(opera) that blocks popups.. ah well, back to school!

edit: I dont think the popups are on the main site, just the forums

They aren´t even on the forum... They are in your browser at school... We had this problems at my work as well... some moron on the nightshift usually visited lots of pornsites during the nightshift in our office. Everytime you went to the internet you could not be sure that no porn sites popped up surprisingly. www.proboards.com is not add free, but they don´t use molesting porn pop ups. The main site is on our own hardware server, so we are safe from all kinds of pop ups. At least as long as you stay away from pornsites, lol. Take my advice, don´t go to this kind of websites, they can actually do harm to your PC. I admit I have nothing against porn , but on the internet you are never anonymous. ...and never safe from bad things that intrude your computer.

Ah, okay.. eyah, that may very well be. the computers at school are full of viruses and spyware.. real pain. I've never had any problems myself though.. run a pretty tight combo of firewalls(hardware and software), antivirus and anti-spyware and most importantly: no internet explorer

before i got my computer some years ago, i was in the library checking out the internet. well needless to say i got some porn popups. just as that was happening one of the libarians just happened to stroll by. well i guess the anal pic caught her eye. she freaked as did everyone in the library. needless to say i was banned from that particular establishment. they found no humor in it. it wasnt my fault i said. she said get out. so i did. looking back on it now and when i tell the story its funny as hell.
