Found an article today in a german guitar mag from March 2002. It is about the Epi Extreme series. The guitars were called Nuclear (a Les Paul with a special laquer finish), Slasher (somewhat alike a Firebird, bolt-on neck) and Demon (RR-style, as well with a bolt-on neck). I never actually saw these guitar in a store, I suppose they must have been a real flop and had been discontinued quickly... Anyone of you ever came across these guitars? I borrowed the picture from that guitar mag and scanned it and had to erase some of the writings, so it is of bad quality unfortunately...

The Les Paul style one looks pretty cool, but I don't like the headstock that Epiphone uses with the other ones, and their color schemes don't look like anything special.

good move by epi on dropping this E series. although I think the Les Paul would be a lot better without the clear pickguard

Oh yeah, the pierced SG... I remember, one of the most ridiculous designs ever seen. The different Epiphone logo on the headstocks was horrible, too. ;D

I stumbled across another odd thing: When looking at the specifications it says about the used materials for body "solid tone wood". What the heck is solid tone wood? No one would expect swamp ash or 40 years old mahogany in this price range, but why can´t manufacturers make a clear statement? I think lots of people would like to know of which kind of wood their guitar is made... may it be basswood, alder, or something else... "solid tone wood", hehe...

The Bully was a nice SG copy, other than the bolt on neck. But my one and only Gibson has a bolt on neck so I guess I can't complain. I don't know what the Bully was made of but it was nice and heavy for an SG.
