glad my 2-1 prediction was wrong, great game no ? even when they scored we always looked like we could go and get another one, doubt Rooney will be at Everton for long now, pity, I reckon if he moves from home it'll screw him up.

It was a nice evening in Dover weatherwise, made a change to see hundreds of happy people in their gardens basking in the success.......

However, I see that there was some post match violence, one of our fans killed !!

I think you could be right about Rooney. Hope that Owen finds a bit of form, I think we'll need him to go all the way.

I watched the game outdoors, we've got a big screen in the city centre. Great atmosphere and great weather.

Tonight's the night then......

We waved goodbye to Germany last night (sorry Steel !!)

My only hope for the game tonight is that the referee is a good 'un, these buggers from Portugal spend more time on the
deck than on their feet, shame, coz they are a talented bunch.

I really can't predict this one, just hope it doesn't go to penalties !!

Be no good putting up a giant screen in Dover.... Someone would steal it !!

No need to feel sorry for us germans, I did not expect any other outcome for our team... the best matches in international contests are always the ones without german participation, lol! ;D I am looking for a nice tournament now! And I support the Czech Republic! ;D

I've got a feeling we'll manage to win tonight, 2-1. I think I'll stay in and watch it though, the weather's been a bit rubbish today.

Do you think the lack of confidence is down to the quality of the team or just our past experience of major competitions? If you look at how we have played so far we must be in with as good a chance as anyone. I just hope it doesn't end up going to penalties. On our past performances I wouldn't fancy our chances.

Listening to the players talk, and reading the interviews, I think that they too have caught the Rooney bug, Gary Neville, Big Sol, Paul Scholes and Mr Beckham have all raved about the guy, I genuinely think he has brought momentum to the team (forward momentum that is) and probably for the first time I can remember they GENUINELY believe they can win.

On a guitar related note !!! I don't think we are allowed to mention advertisers, sites, bargains etc, but if you are looking for another Epiphone, let me know, you may have spotted ads in any of the UK magazines, I buy a lot from a certain shop, he now has EPI LP Standards for GBP 299.00 and Casinos for 399.00 !!

Couple more hours to go at work, then out with the dog, may well listen to the first half on the walkman !!

I think you could be right about the Rooney thing. With some of the big teams on there way home already I think this is the best chance we've had for years. If we don't win this one it's going to be '40 years of hurt' by the time the world cup comes round!!

As for the guitar thing I've got a new amp on it's way so I don't think I'll be able to swing a new guitar just yet! I had to promise the other half a new fireplace to get the amp so it's gonna be a major DIY job to get a new axe. I've already got an LP classic plus, I really fancy a nice Tele. The Highway 1's seem to be getting good reviews. Birthday in October so I might start sowing the seeds now and come the autumn who knows.

Hopefully a celebratory post later tonight will be in order.
