Hi Guys
20/6/04 in the UK is Fathers day, a day for Dad to put his feet up and feel the warm glow of the love of his family, correct ??
Well mine started at 0700 hrs this morning, call from the police, our office has been burgled, book value of the stuff they took is probably around GBP 500, couple of CD RW, a Re-Router, printer etc, damage caused to remove said gear around GBP 4500 !! All insured, we'll get it back and will be working fine by 0900 Monday 21/6/04.
Get home, middle daughter, terrible pains, doctor, hospital, tonsillitis .... Hello Mr Anti Biotic !!!
Home again with daughter and drugs, some SOAB has left my back yard gate open and my wonderful Dalmatian "Dorothy" has decided to explore the world (I walk her 3 hrs per day, obviously not enough !!) spend 2 hrs looking and hey she just wanders down the alley like nothing has happened !
Out for walk with my other dog Bernard, fantastic, office is secure, Emily is feeling better, Dorothy has had her dinner and well asleep, still around 22 degrees... Huge lightning storm, Bernard is afraid of a loud door closing let alone thunder & lightning !!
Jeeeez, head home, aim for local store to get well deserved cold bottle of Stella Artois... Shut coz owners kids taken their Dad out to dinner.
Guess this is just a normal day for an average loving DAD,
Chris - UK 45 but currently feeling 95 !!

Hi Chris
Doesn't sound like a good day to me. Try and relax for the rest of the day.
My Fathers day not been too bad so far. Started the day with a nice cup of tea in bed, a card and a present. With a bit of help from the Wife my little lad bought me the new Morrisey album. Been listening to that and relaxing before the return to work tommorrow.
Are you looking forward to the football? Could be a draw, what do you think?
Enjoy the rest of your day.

Hi Mark
Glad your day has been better than mine, daughter now definately "powering up" thanks... Don't know what to make of Morissey, not sure he does either, Loved the Smiths to death but ain't sure he should try and re-invent himself as current day Leonard Cohen .... Music to slash yer wrists to.
regarding footie, apart from Steel rest of the guys will wonder what the hell we are going on about, I reckon England to win 2-1, for some totally unexplained reason I see my man Sol Campbell getting the winner from a corner !!
We need to get more Brits on here Mark , what say you !!!
Enjoy the day DAD !!

Hi Chris
Hope your right about the footie, I'd be well chuffed with a 2-1 win. Ditch the diamond and play 4-4-2 . Could you believe the France game? I had a serious Victor Meldrew moment 'I don't believe it' at the end of the game. Why did Sven bring Heskey? The man is a complete Donkey.
As for Morrisey, on the strength of a couple of listens I think he has had a bit of a return to form. Can't seem to get too worked up about too much new stuff at the moment.

...up the colonies...down the crown.....
...football...as in soccer...UK's playing Sweden?....
...on this side of the pond...got home from church...wife and older daughter went to the store to get stuff for our cookout...I do the grilling...I went and got case of what you call 'bitters'...pulled the grill out of the shed...I'm planning on spending the afternoon with my guitar...we have to wait for my younger daughter to come from work...it either ends a 5 or 7...I'll start cooking around either 4 or 6...weatherwise...this is an unusual June day...it's actually a little on the cool side with little humidity...rather pleasant for this swamp we call our Capitol.....
...chris...looks like you ought to have your guitar out while your watchin' the game...actually...you're a very lucky man...count your blessings...your daughter's going to get better...so what if the weather's lousy...it's the UK...goes with the territory...your dogs love ya too...even if one is scared of the thunder....
...while we're on the subject of pooches...know anybody that owns a BIG ass-grabbing dog...I'm thinkin' great dane...bull mastiff...rottweiler...doberman pinscher...junkyard mutt...ask em' if they'd like to keep 'em at your work in the evenings/weekends for the next couple of weeks...the punks might come back...it'd serve 'em right if they got chewed up a bit.....
...okay...so the police and your insurance company think that's a bad idea...go get your guitar......
...by the way...Happy Father's Day..........

...got go...daughter's off at 5...I've already started offering the burnt offerings to the weather gods...and...my wife wants to go for a drive to the ice cream stand with me tonight.....
...Happy Father's Day to all of you.....

Well father´s day in germany is something different, hehe... Here all men (even if they are not fathers already) go out for walk with friends and booze all day long... They walk from pub to pub and imbibe, lol! But I hear you Chris, it is often that way when you expect a day or an event to be something special it turns out to be totally different from that. Seems like you had a "nice" day... Concerning the Euro 2004 I have to point out one thing: It´s a tournament of the 15 best football/soccer teams of Europe plus ...the Germans, lol... ;D I guess they will lose their match against the Czech Republic and have to drive home. The Czech Republic and the team from Sweden are my favorites this time to win the tournament.

Hi Steel
German fathers day sounds fun, you probably need an official "day after Fathers day" holiday so everyone can recover !!
Our lot play Croatia tonight, a draw and we go through to face Portugal, I hope we go for the win and don't play for a draw.
Regarding your team, don't write them off, with that one famous exception (involving England !!) German teams are always very well organised and disciplined. I agree that the current Czech team is excellent, but I think you guys have the ability to hold them up and maybe "steal" a vicory by 1 goal,
Good luck anyway, lets hope for another Germany v England final !!
