So a buddy of mine was listening to a CD last night from a group by the name of Rammstein, and I have to say that it was one of the worst CDs I've ever heard. I guess German death metal just isn't my style...
Steel, you have any comments since you live in Germany?

I live in Norway(land of black metal and deathpunk), so as a spokesperson for everything dark and dangerous, I have to admit that I don't like Rammstein either (no, I'm not a metalhead, I like 70s rock better )

In Germany Rammstein are not considered as a metalband at all, at least not by the majority of the people. Here Rammstein belongs more to the gothic/gothic metal scene. I totally dislike this band...

Yes they are pretty bad, too much grunting for my taste

I listened to part of one of their CD's once, only because I was curious as I was stationed at Ramstein A.B. Germany in the 70's.
Not really my kind of music either.

but i did have a lot of fun with their music when i was on a trip with school. whenever we sat in our bus for a longer ride we started "singing" rastein "tunes" and had good laughs about it...

Whoa whoa whoa....stop the train.....lol.....
I really liked their first mainstream commercial realease "Sehnsucht". In fact, I still put it in the rotation for play. I got into them when I was listening to a lot of Goth. Not that I was in the Goth scene, but I've always liked Type O NEgative, Iced Earth, and Marilyn Manson. I really dig the way they orchestrate their music. Ramstein got me with Du Hast and then I bought the album. I can't say it's for everyone, but I really like it.
Speaking of odd bands....anyone ever hear of Puya? They are from South America and almost everything they sing is in Spanish. What cool is that you'll be in the middle of a great riff, then, the horn section comes in and backs it up, or leads the song in another direction. It's great. Really makes you want to groove...
Later all -
Brandon

Well. . . All this talk about this band has made me curious (I've never heard of them or listened to them).
I think that I'll have to go out and find a CD of theirs today!
I think that this is what they mean when they say that there is no such thing as "bad publicity!"

Hi Dennis
I never heard of them either, but the name is conjuring up an image of tight leather trousers, long unruly hair, big boots and menacing glares at the audience !!!

Having in mind the horrible accident that happened in Rammstein, it is rather tasteless to call a band like this... just my opinion, by the way!
