ok, I understand the how Epi dates their guitars, but this one's got me stumped. I have an Epi LP Classic Birdseye, which according to Gibson were produced from 1994-1999. However, here is the serial number on my axe: I01073399 So, when do you think this one was made? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Ok. So am I to suppose Epi was still making birdseye LP classics in 2001 and the info on their site is wrong?
Oh, and thanks for the help dating the axe.

smooth, you are correct. It is a limited edition classic. What's the difference between this and the "garden variety" birdseyes? Just that it was part of a limited run?

Epiphone does that quite often, make certain models/colors that differ from the regular models.I don't think Birdseye is used anymore, at least not here recently. Mostly i have seen classics plus models in the Flame or Quilted tops. Other than the top, all classics generally share the same specs.
