For years I've had a Zoom 505II pedal that I have been using. I have to say, every time I buy a new amp, pedal, multi effects pedal, etc... I always seem to go back to my 505. It just has the "tone" I am searching for. I am into high gain metal and I have to say there are some great distortions on the 505 that make me go back to it all the time. The other day I bought the new GFX-5 board. Nice unit with multiple footswitches and volume pedal. I have been able to almost duplicate the sounds of my 505 on this thing. Not exactly since this one has many more parameters to set. The 505 was easy, just set a couple of knobs and your off. The GFX-5 is much more intense in the settings. But I think I finally found a replacement for my 505. I probably will keep going back to it once in awhile but I have to say the GFX-5 is the first unit I spent money on in awhile that I am happy with. Just my opinions though. Take care and thanks for reading.
