Ok, I'm looking for an inexpensive mixer for me to use for myself at home. Should I look at one of the small Behringers?
Other suggestions welcome. I am using Guitar tracks pro software, and will plug my amp into the mixer
-thanks for the recording help. Ima rookie!

Yes, definitely! I own two Behringer mixing consoles, maybe I repeat myself when I support this german brand, but Behringer means value for money, Behringer is german design manufactured somewhere in China or Korea where working power is affordable. Behringer will never disappoint you... just my opinion. Are you looking for a specific model?

well, ideally I'd like one with effects too. Ill check the Behringer site.
I have a V-AMP2 that I will also be using in conjunction with the mixer.

I run my Behringer V Amp 2 also through a Behringer mixing console before the signal goes to the recorder. But anyway, the Behringer mixers with the built in effects should be nice though I never checked out one myself, but I do have two Behringer Virtualizers, the effects are amazing. I guess the built in effects in the mixers should be of the same quality. You can also buy a mixer without the effects, for example the Behringer 2004 and simply buy an additional Virtualizer and maybe a Behringer Compressor/Noisegate like the Behringer Autocom. This would be more versatile for you could also use the effect devices with other devices...

Behringer,is a great way to go. Also Yamaha and Mackie have nice mixers for a little more cash. But for the money its hard to beat Behringer. Really nice stuff.

Check your local music stores for used mixers. I got a Yamaha and a Carvin mixing board for $25.00 each. They had been brought in for repairs, fixed, but never picked up.
