Hey all...
I've been mulling this over for a while now and have started on a FAQ which will be up on the main site when it's up. BAsically, it's going to have stuff on mic technique and placement, eq settings, mix techniques, compression settings and more. Gear reviews and research resources will also have a place.
What I would like from all of you are some suggestions and ideas on what should be there. Maybe someone has a trick for recording kick drums or how to get a killer guitar track from a cheap $10 mic.
So, if you all have any suggestions, let me know and I'll include it.
This could be a great, all in one place to find info. I don't care much for having to look at 30000 different sites to find the one bit of info I'm looking for. I'd rather just have one place to go, get as much info as possible, and then get back to recording and playing.

Actually the main site is up since the day before yesterday... (www. epifriends.net) I really appreciate your input and dedication! As soon as you have the FAQ ready send it over as a word document attached to an email to me. I will put it on the site immediately.

Well, I've started in on it already but it is no where near ready for general consumption. As soon as I have something ready I'll get it to you.....

Well since you asked, I once got a neat sound out of my guitar by placing the mic at the top of a staircase while my amp was at the bottom of the stairs. I took the idea from jimmy page when he discussed how the drum tracks for "When the levee breaks" were recorded. It worked for me giving me some natural reverb that sounded just awesome
