Hello all. I'm a new epi owner and I found the link here from the forums on the epiphone.com site. I hope to learn much and it will be nice to have fellow epi users to talk to.

Thanks for the welcomes. I got a Epi SG Special Limited Edition 2 weeks ago and I'm waiting for UPS to bring epi #2 tomorrow. It is a LP Classic Quited Maple I fell in love with the SG so much I had to get another epi. I have wanted to try them for awhile but I kept reading about things that were not so good about them and I hesitated for a long time. Then I saw a great deal on the SG and decided to take the chance. I'm glad I did. I've played it hard for 2 weeks now and none of the issues that I read about have happened. I got a good one. It plays and sounds amazing! I'm fairly new to guitars, I have played bass mostly for a few years but I finally decided to start on improving my guitar skills a few months ago. I've been using my daughters BC Rich Mockingbird and she finally banned me from it and told me to get my own guitar. LOL So... I bought the SG and now I'm epi hooked..

the SG is a nice guitar. I bought an Epi SG junior for my daughter, but I bought it from her and gave it to my son, since she never touched it.
What kind of things do they say are wrong with Epiphones? I've loved every one I've had.

What kind of things do they say are wrong with Epiphones? I've loved every one I've had. I read several reviews on Harmonony Central about epiphones and they mentioned things like having bad electronics, and the pickup selector switch being bad, and the input jack falling out. But I haven't had any problems like that. Mine is great!

Me neither. But guitars vary, and people that bring them down probably got bad guitars. Or they are too snobby to play a "copy" guitar. Nothing like that here though!

all very minor items. Really, not much in a guitar to go wrong, electroics wise...

all very minor items. Really, not much in a guitar to go wrong, electroics wise... That's true... I guess some people just feel the need to nit pic. I haven't heard of anything major wrong with them like you do with other brands..
