It is great to know there is a forum and webpage devoted to us epiphone fans. I was an epiphone fan all the way back since 93 when I was 13 and a friend showed me his las paul standard, I had a mexican made standard strat back then. Drueling over catalogues I instantly fell in love with the birdseye top les paul classic. It wasn´t until 2002 I found a birdseye epi les at a local store brand new from their warehouse that had come in that very day (It seems it was all meant to be). It was made in jan. 1998 by the samick factory and had been waiting nearly five years to fall in my hands. Throughout the years I had been told by ignorant people to avoid epi les pauls but when they saw my guitar it was all different. Well, I hope I can further more contribute to this great forum and webpage...

I would like to see one with a translucent finish on it Like my quilt top. But they look sweet with the clear gloss too. It's true that Epi has had a few quality controll issues from different factories, and it is possible to find a lemon here and there. But if one is a good judge of guitars, one should not have any problem finding a quality Epi that seems like it was made just for them. I am glad to hear such is the case with you and your Birdseye LP. It's the same with me and my Quilt top. Hope you enjoy the forum. See you around Zac

Zacattack, your LP Classic quilt in that color (blue) has to be the most beautiful series of epiphone guitars I've seen in years.... It looks amazing!! Thank you very much. I am in love with it. Belive it or not, I found it right here on this site in the gallery. Another member by the name of "Ol Geezer" owned it and I saw the picture. After looking all around for a new Epi LP I came to the conclusion that I wanted one like his. To keep it short, he was kind enough to sell me his. Thanks again Geez. I wrote a short review that you can check out in the gallery. www.epifriends.net Well thanks again and I can't wait to see pics of your Birdseye. Zac
