....with the Transformer amp. I spent a good three hours this morning playing the LP through it and I've barely scratched the surface of what it can do. I've been concentrating on the first bank of presets and modifying a few of them until I get a certain tone, then saved them in the first bank of user presets. My two favorites so far are the American Hi-Gain and American Tweed. The first is down right nasty! Holy cripes, what a growl with amazing harmonic overtones and sustain. It was a ton of fun banging out some AC/DC and my feeble attempt at Jimi's version of the Star Spangled Banner. T The tweed is super warm and subdued but with a hint of compression. Very nice. If I had to nit-pick about anything it would be the learning curve with this thing. I discovered real fast that minor, very minor tweaks to the sound are the way to go. There are just so many preset models and possible alterations to the preset tone that changing to much at once gets me lost. Given the limited amount of free time I have, I imagine it'll take me a long time to really get a good feel for all the amp can do. That's all right though I guess, it'll keep me out of trouble .

...hey NattyBumppo...........
...glad you're enjoying you're new amp...............
...make sure you do yourself a favor and take the time to write down all your tweaks..............
...as often happens on those amps....the wrong button gets pushed and the only way you can get the amp/chip/processor to work again is to do a reset...when that happens the amp goes to its factory presets...any tweaks are lost...the list will save you a lot of time............

Great suggestion. Thanks! Peavey has a free, downloadable software program for the PC that interfaces with the amp using a midi-interface and allows storage of tweaked pre-stes on the laptop. I purchased a USB - Midi interface for my laptop so I can do that. But like any software program, I'm sure it won't prevent me from wiping out my preset on the PC as well as the amp so writing it down would be a logical safeguard. Thanks again!
