I've been monitoring a bunch of stuff on eBay; bid on one amp but lost out in the wee hours of the morning and have made stops at a few local shops over the last week or two. This morning I ran down to my favorite shop to check out their one day sale and I'm glad I did. I now have a new Blues Junior to call my own! I plugged into half a dozen or so different amps; Roland RX-30D, a used Roland Blues something or other, a Marshall combo, and a couple different solid state Fenders (which I actually like the Princeton 650). After about an hour I moved to a different room and plugged into a Blues Junior and within about 30 seconds I said "I'll take it"! Holy cow, what a ton of sound from that little mighty mo. Classic Fender bell like tone but dialing up the volume and using the master produced a very warm overdriven grit. Just what I was looking for. Simple operation with both clean and mild grit easily attained without needing a manual to figure it out. I'm amazed how much it sounds like my old Super Six Reverb. Their everyday price was $389.00 which judging by some internet sites is darn good plus I got 10% off and he threw in two sets of EB Slinky strings. All in all I'm one happy camper. Now I just need to keep the wife from spotting it for a week or two until I can intercept the CC bill and pay it off in full. Thanks to all who offered advice and suggestions.

Congrats on the new amp.
The Blues Jr does need a little bit of work to bring it to it's full potential. The stock "Made for Fender" Eminence speaker is crap. A nice Celestion Greenback or one of the Scumbacks I was talking about in my other posts sound great through this little amp. Also the Stock "Sovtek branded GT branded Fender" tubes are sad. I replaced mine with 2 early Amperex EL84's, 1 early GE5751 in V1, 1 JJ/Tesla 12AX7 in V2 (V2 is the reverb tube, I don't use the reverb. so a strong 12AX7 is fine), and 1 early RCA 12AX7 in V3. BIG Diff in tone!!!!!

It sounds good to my novice, untrained ears and I don't want to mess with the warranty which is 5 years PLUS another two courtesy of the American Express policy of doubling manufacturer warranties to a mx of two years additional. If tubes start to wear of blow then I'll look into the upgraded glass. Thanks.
