I have a 10" and a 12", the 10" DOESN'T over power the 12, it gives it more highs and mids, but hte 12 covers hte bottom end and thickens the sound. It cool to see that Gibson makes amplifier cabinets that have a 10" and a 12"...Imagine what a 12' would sound like... ...woh... Aaron

Ok my 2 cents. Anything with a couple of 12" celestions in it will rock. Buy it, build it,whatever. I used to have a 2x12 fender cab I dragged around for years. It was ok, but after I put celestions in it, well,,,,,IT ROCKED!! There is an interesting side story about changing out the speakers that is not fit for posting. If anyone wants to hear it e-mail me. nopraler@yahoo.com or IM me.

...I found someone who has a used Acoustic 2x10 for $129 that I'm going to check out while I'm on vacation in June.... ...half the fun for me is looking because this just isn't critical...the amp works fine without it...and I'm not trying to let everyone in my development know I have an amp....
...still I do appreciate the ideas....
...any comments on the 2x10 Acoustic....

I just found out my 10" is an acoustic speaker. when I got it, it rattled and distorted on clean, so I got a free speaker replacement. I was os excited it was celestion and it sounded great, i didn't look it up. The Truvox is acoustic, thats whati got andi love it! Aaton

...well...I done did it...I hope I did it dood....
...after church service today I took the trash to the transfer station...here in the pc-world of DC we don't have dumps...at least that are open to the public....
...afterwards I took a little side trip down to my favorite departmental music store...GC...lo and behold...in the back where they keep the used equipment...was pretty much what I think I'd been looking for...a 1x12 Mesa Boogie extension speaker....
...it's a Thiele model...which means it's half-open in the back...like my Valvetronix...the speaker is a 12" Celestion Black Shadow...the cabinet is 18Wx15Hx10 1/2D...probably weighs about 25 lbs....
...it's rated at 90 watts into 8 ohms...which satisfies the Vox's requirements...8 ohms or less...wattage rating of 60 or more....
...there's another 1/4" jack labelled "paralleled out"...it has a plastic cap over it so there's no misconnections....
...tried it out with a Valvetronix floor model...sounded okay to my ears...when I got it home I noticed that with it sitting flat on the floor...the Vox seemed a little louder as it sits on a small table...naturally...tilting the Mesa back or getting it off the floor made sound a little louder/brighter....
...they wanted $300 for it...I got it for $225....
...does anybody have an opinion...I now have a 2x12 that can be 20' wide....
