Well, it's one of the few polls we haven't started about basic guitar hardware.
I use a 21 foot Monster Cable (monster rock).

I use good quality cables when I record or when I play at home, when I play live or on band rehearsals I only go wireless. I don´t want no clumsy bass players and jumping female lead singers to tread on my cable. When I was a young boy I worked during my school holidays to be able to afford my first proper electric guitar. When I had it something terrible happened... I tread on the cable myself when I was playing and the whole connector jack broke out of the wood! Lol, I can laugh now, it is ago 20 years or so... I had to fix the connector on the top of the guitar with a nice brass plate to cover the damaged wood, lol... No, as long as there are clumsy or slighty drunk bandmates around I go wireless exclusively. *g* I also suffered an electric shock back in the days when one of my old tube amp heads collapsed in a little mushroom cloud, hehehe... yikes... this was painful, but I was saved! With wireless you are save in any case! P.S.: Tube amps always provide the certain danger of an electical shock hazard. Keep in mind an amp must always be earthed, and make sure you use the proper cabinets and have the amp switched to either 4, 8 or 16 ohms correctly. And definitely use loudspeaker cables, not guitar cables to connect cabinets to an amp.

I used to swear by RapCo, but since I can't seem to find those anymore I now use ProCo and LiveWire. But I am open to a better chord if you can recomend one.

If you are going to purchase a wireless make sure that you have a diversity system, those with two antennas. These are more reliable concerning dropouts. I still use the old fashioned VHF technology, and it works very well, lots of devices using this "old" technology are now on let´s say "discount prices", our bassplayer owns a new UHF system, but to be honest I hear no difference. Maybe look for a rack mountable 19" device. Brands I can recommend are: Nady, Samson and Sennheiser. Be prepared you will need lots of batteries, I found out that those rechargable batteries are no good for wireless systems because their capacity is to small. A alcaline 9V block has about 450 - 550 mAh, a rechargable one has about only 120 - 150 mAh. An alcaline block gives me about 6 - 10 hours of playing time with my Nady wireless. Wireless is fun, once you start it there will be alot of goofing around with this new gadget. Some guys say wireless sucks on tone a bit, it might be... but almost every pro musician uses wireless, it can´t be so bad then. Wireless provides a lot of safety concerning electric shocks and broken guitars as a result from someone treading on the cable. And it gives you a lot of freedom to move around, hehe... listen to your soundcheck from the console in the club and get an idea how your sound is heard in the audience...

Thanks for the advice, I think I may go looking for a VHF unit because they're probably cheaper. Im going to have to look around and see whats in my local stores to choose from. The battery issue isn't to big a deal, anything is worth me not tripping over chords anymore

I should have put wireless on the poll...oh well...
I use a wireless if I had a lot a money lying around and I actually needed one, but for those of us who don't do gigs and don't really have any reason for wireless-cables are good.
