Thanks again Mandough- I will definitely check out the Seth Lovers- I did see those also.
I also think the Blue Quilt LP would look awesome with gold.....

Doug, take a look at the DiMarzio PAF Classic, it is chrome plated as well and the description says it is very close to those olden Gibson ones.

Hi Zac, well, it´s your guitar at last, but don´t ruin this beauty with black hardware! D'oh! What about GOLD HARDWARE? This would look kickass... Just my opinion. I happen to love the way the black hardward looks on my special II. But yes I did think about what the black would look like on the quilt top. So before I buy or do anything I plan on swapping the bridge and stop bar out with the black hardware on the special II just to see what it will look like. I have never been a fan of gold hardware unless its on a black guitar. Just my opinion Z ;D

Hi Zac, well, it´s your guitar at last, but don´t ruin this beauty with black hardware! D'oh! What about GOLD HARDWARE? This would look kickass... Just my opinion. Haven't you guys seen how the black speed knobs look so much better than the gold standard ones that came on it? To me, the gold fights the blue but looks killer on red or brown ones. So, it would follow that all black hardware (pickup rings, bridge, tuning keys) would look great against the blue too. I know they look cool on the black Studio Standard (isn't there a "family" image somewhere on the main site?). Just my opinion....

Yea Geez sees it too. I would feel dif if the head stock had binding too, then the black tuners may not be as apealing to me, but then again they might I would have to see it. But the black hardware (now I am thinking glossy black) will look sweet. I will take some pics with the special II bridge and stop bar on it and see what everone thinks and then make up my mind.
Thanks Geez I almost had forgotten about the pick up rings or trim, also the toggle ring needs to go black.

Well, like Geezer said it... with all the plastic parts in black as well it should look better. Maybe it will look even good. Check it out. At last it is reversible if it´s not looking better than now.

Great page but it doesn't have black hardware as an option. But I did get an overall idea of what it would look like with all the plastic black. IMO it would take a bit of the classic pretty away but would add a bit of hard rock tuffness to it. So leave it as is and just get new tuners or go hard core with it? I will know more next time I get ready to change strings. I am going to take all the black stuff (except the tuners) off the special II and put it on the quilt and just sit the rings on it since they won't fit the arch, and see what I think. I will take some pics if I can get a hold of the digi camera when I do it, and see what yall think too.

You may have to take your old rings off and take with you to a guitar store. There are at least 7 different sized pickup rings on the market.

Have any of you tried those bronze pup rings? I think a pair would look good on my Sheraton.
