My birthday is on the 18th of December, too, although, I might be aging a bit more gracefuly than ol Keith... I saw Kiss in 1983 on the Anamalize tour. None other than Ted Nugent opened the show. I was more impressed with that than Kiss, let me tell ya ! ! ! No matter what you think of the man's politics, or songs, he can fu***n PLAY.

My first concert was KISS during the Lick It Up tour back in the 1980's. It was their first tour without the makeup-Eric Carr on drums (RIP- astounding drummer) and Vinnie Vincent on lead guitar. This was at the Stanley Theater in Pittsburgh- a considerably smaller venue than they were used to- and sadly it was not sold out not even completely filled. I remember one point in the show Gene Simmons looking out into the crowd and shaking his head disgusted. The opening act was W.A.S.P.- anyone remember them? Blackie Lawless as lead singer and bassist- funny memory about them-my brother and I were playing their record (an LP...anyone remember them LOL) and the song "F$#! Like a Beast" was playing.....my mom heard the lyric through the closed bedroom door, and stormed in and broke the record in half.
Ah- my youth.

I never been to a concert till I started working at Will Rogers. Since I started working here in 1995 I have seen, Phish, Manson, Toadies (Twice), Perfect Circle, Smashing Pumpkins, Beck, and various Country bands. Each one was great in it's own way. I'll miss this once I start the Police Academy in January.

I'm still going through the hiring process with the Fort Worth PD. It takes so long it's not even funny . I applied back in Oct. 03, Passed the Civil exam in January 04, passed the the Physical exam in June, passed the Polygraph in Sept. Passed the Oral Review Board (interview w/3 Police Supervisors) in Oct. and now waiting to take the Psych exam and Medical exam. After all that I get to go through the Academy for the next six months. With a baby due in January to boot ;D. So wish me luck guys. NO TICKETS TO DUDES WHO PLAY MUSIC unless you play keys LOL JK .

LMAO, hehe... this scenario reminds me on an old Twisted Sister video clip ("I wanna rock"), where the annoyed father storms into his sons room... lol, until Dee Snider teaches him a lesson. Hehe..., or the "Were not gonna take it" video with that hilarious teacher. Those were the days, hehe. Metal was obviously a real shock for our parents. Fortunately I am german and mom and dad could not understand much of the lyrics... ;D

Yep, I remember the video....was around the time I started playing guitar.
Metal was hard for our parents back then, but its kinda tame compared to some that came after, don't ya think?? Except for a lyric like "F$%# Like A Beast" was pretty ballsy at that time.
The record breaking incident was funny. As soon as we saw my mother come in the room...we knew were in trouble. Black vinyl all over the place. Messed up the needle on the record player too.

I`m not trying to one-up anyone, but for me, (and I`m dating myself here) it was the Beatles at DC Stadium when I was 14. Fortunately my Uncle George had a Federal job with the U.S. Treasury and lived in Bethesda, Maryland. I was visiting there with him and his family for the summer, and he was able to get tickets for my cousins and me. It was awesome to be there, but with all the screaming and yelling you really couldn`t hear a thing. Still, it was a bit of history I won`t ever forget.

Aside to Mandough: the kid next door to me is from Michigan, and has been opn a deer hunting trip with the Motor City Madman. He says his dad and Ted Nugent are friends, and hunting buddies.

My first concert was Ted Nugent on the Scream Dream tour in Omaha, NE. The opening acts were Def Leppard (On Through the Night) and the Scorpions (Animal Magnetism). That show rocked!!!

Ted opened for KISS on many shows I went to. One opening act I really looked forward to. Amazing player, and I love the tones from the Byrdland.
