I'm jazzed -- I just received a memo from the John Lennon Songwriting Contest that my composition "Two Can Play That Game" was awarded an Honorable Mention in the 2003 competition!
It reads, in part, "Only a small percentage of the thousands of entries received are recognized with this award. Despite the subjective nature of the adjudication process, our judges felt that your song was among the best entered into the Contest."
How cool is that?

That is some achievment, I've tried many times to write even a few verses, I can either get the lyrics or the music, never managed to get both to marry together.

WAY TO GO MAN!
He's the real deal folks. He sent me a CD with a track from his band along with the quilt top. I just got around to listening to it a few days ago. It is a really cool and layed back type of jam. Ol Geez sets some nice slide work to it and the song and the recording are both TOP SHELF. I am anxious to hear some more.
