Look at this one! I could not resist!

I found this beauty on german Ebay. An exhibit from a product show. A guy bought it last year and now sold it to me. I guess it would have been another lawsuit copy if it had been available in stores. The cutaway is like it is on original Les Pauls and on Epiphones (meanwhile almost all copies come with slightly more or less altered cutaway desings), even the headstock is something like an "open book". It came with closed humbuckers with chrome caps. They sounded well, but I changed them for some open coils I had in my cupboard. The guitar has trapezoid fretboard inlays, a creme binding, a set neck...

When I changed the pick ups I found that the manufacturers, alike the Epiphone manufacturers, took good care of covering all the cavings thick with laquer. But they forgot something in the neck humbuckerīs caving. It is clear to see, from what I can tell, the body is made of alder with an almost 1/2" thick maple cap. By the way... the brand name says SUNRISE, I remember a good quality Explorer copy of that brand I had back in the mid 80īs. The craftmanship is quite amazing. The guitar is well built, has nice frets with no sharp corners, a real good action, a desirable neck profile Iīd call a bit slimmer than the ones of Epiphones, it has Kluson style tuners, that remember me on the ones Epiphone used to have back in the day, the nut is well made, all in all a nice guitar. The guitar was almost unplayed by the previous owner who was a drummer. It still had the protection stickers on the pickups and pickguard. Speaking about the pickguard: I think I will leave it on this guitar! To me it always depends... but on this guitar the pickguard looks really nice.
But what really caught my eye was the color of this guitar! Wow! I guess it is:"Like it or hate it!" I love it! A green sunburst that turns to almost black... I really appreciate this color that is far away from the usual Les Paul colors. What do you guys think?
The guitar came in today and I will keep you updated.
Steele.

Nice buy Steel I like the color!!!!Very distinct,ya dont see alot of green sunburst guitars....Looks good.. The pickguard does look good on that guitar..I know for me I always leave them on for a while but always end up taking them off eventually...I also always end up taking off the little rythem/treble ring around the toggle switch too....Sweet guitar Steel

Very nice color. I also love those types of colors on Les Pauls. I go for the blue, purple and greens. I just got an Agile LP type double cut in blue burst, I liked the guitar's shape but fell in love with the color. I don't know if I'm crazy, but recently I went to a shop and saw many Gibson LP Standards and found myself eyeing the Gecko Green/Yellow burst more than the others!
Great guitar Steel, I think I'm "GAS"ing again!
