A big "Hello" « Result #1 on Dec 15, 2009, 9:13am »
First, let me say welcome to all our new members! There`s a wealth of information to be found here, along with a host of unfound friends. Enjoy your visits, and don`t be shy about asking a question or ten. We were all "Newbies" at one time or another. I will be making a conscious effort to check in more often and I`ll help wherever I can. I know some of our founders are "lurking" in here from time to time and they`ll assist you in any way they can. They helped me alot, too. Secondly, a great big HAPPY HOLIDAYS to everyone!!!!!

A quick reply on the epiphone electar tube 10, and what I have found to work on it as far as improvements, first one was using a jensen mod 8" 8ohm speaker which I bought for 24.00u.s granted its not the original 4ohm but Im still experimenting with it but it seems to work good for it right now with out changing the output transformer. second of course is the tubes, using slovtek 6L6GC and Slovtek 12AX7WB, gives a lot more gain, or you can use the Mullard Reissue 12AX7 good harmonics you lose gain from the WB tube though so pick your poison. Still You will not get some off the charts amp but you work with what you got, I am planing on trying to find a way to improve the board, if not replacing the board with my own populated board to see if maybe epi, just got more cheap than with just the speaker, oh and the holes drilled in front of the cab for it too breath are only about 1" in diameter, on both sides lower front I thought maybe of drilling them bigger to let it breath a little better before I changed out the speaker,
So Anyhow a little rehash on the Epiphone Electar Tube 10
Re: Epiphone Excellente « Result #4 on Nov 14, 2009, 10:43pm »
I recently did a search on YouTube for "Epiphone Excellente" and found this wonderful TV appearance of the group Orpheus performing their hit "I've Never Seen Love Like This".
The lead singer Bruce Arnold is playing a vintage Excellente with a standard Epi pickguard (not the gaudy Western style seen on most examples). I searched elsewhere on the net and found that Bruce does indeed play this very guitar on every Orpheus album except for the fourth and final one on Bell Records. Listen to the track and you can hear the Excellente's unmistakable sound. Deep and rich. A perfect combination of a J-200 and a Martin D-45.

Okay. Lol For the first paragraph I seriously thought you were truly talking about an online program that allows you to have a virtual girlfriend or wife or that sort. That was really funny.

Guilty as charged Robert! I guess day-to-day life can interrupt our fun in a big way. Some of these "recent" posts are ancient history, aren`t they? I`ll try to keep updated more often. How about everyone else? Let`s help the new people where we can, and try to better stay in touch with each other. Kind of bring the forum back to life.
